WHO ARE THEY?
Teapot Trust is a Scottish charity providing a UK wide programme of art therapy and creative interventions in hospitals, to support the wellbeing of children and young people with chronic conditions and their families. Their work aims to build resilience in children with chronic conditions by encouraging them to express emotions, mentally overcome the challenges linked to their condition and develop healthy coping mechanisms.
They aim to make hospitals less frightening for children and their families by providing art therapy, giving a more positive experience of visiting Hospital. They also aim to reduce anxiety for children about injections, blood tests and other invasive medical treatments. Their team of professional art therapists work across Scotland and England. The art therapists providing their services are fully qualified to Masters degree level, are HCPC and BAAT registered and hold PVG/DBS Disclosure certification. Teapot Trust is an integral part of a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
